So, I have been wondering for a while if I should start a blog. Not because I think I have anything particularly interesting to say but because I haven’t been writing much in my journal of late. Maybe it is time to go digital.
Now just a heads up. I have a total disregard for spelling, grammar & punctuation. I chose to place the blame for this on the Qld Education System as when I went through they thought creativity was more important than the basics. Be kind.
Anyway:
I ran a workshop recently & that seems a good place to start this blog journey. It was held at the Auditorium of the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens as part of the Botanique Christmas Bazaar 2013. It ran for both days of the weekend and I had 6 lovely students. Here are 3 of them collaborating on Day 1.
I did my best not to talk them into submission so we got onto making a paper bundle to go in the red cabbage brew reasonably quickly.
While this was cooking away we made a fabric bundle to stew in the iron brew overnight. As expected they all turned up early the next day, keen to open their presents!
And before you ask, No Venus is not eating her bundle just sniffing it. There was lemon scented gum amongst the leaves I used to make the brew so it did smell rather lovely. I think we all had a pretty good time and got some good results.
